Michael Garrahy, Chief of The Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department has appointed Joseph Finnegan to the position of Chiefs’ Aide. Joe has been a member of the department’s Fire Police division prior to his new position. He also has served many years as a volunteer firefighter in Newington and retired from the West Hartford Fire Department.
The Chief also made the appointment of Henry Vasel to the position of Public Information Officer for the RHVFD. Henry had previously served in the Fire Police division, was a member of Station 1 and was 2nd LT. at Station 1 before his transfer to the staff position.
Bill Conlan, 1st LT at station has been promoted to the position of acting Captain at Station 1. Fred Weber stepped down as Captain after serving in this capacity for many years. Along with this officer change at Station 1, Frank Kelley was promoted to 1st LT and Jeff Gerace to 2nd LT.
