Standards Committee
Purpose: The purpose of the standards
committee shall be to conduct research, develop recommendations, and study and
review matters pertaining to equipment purchases and standardization.
Policy: Committee
Structure:

The
Fire Chief shall appoint a chief officer to serve on the committee
·
The
designated chief officer shall appoint, as necessary, members within the
department who may have specific knowledge or experience, which would benefit
the committee.
·
As
part of his duties the chief officer shall chair a minimum of one committee
meeting per month.
·
The
chairperson may call special meetings shall whenever necessary.
·
The
committee shall have one member serve as a recording secretary, who will post
the minutes in each station.
·
Each
Company captain shall select one officer to serve the program for a two-year
period.
Committee:
·
The
committee shall evaluate existing equipment, i.e. high-rise packs, and
recommend changes as needed.
·
The
committee shall review tactical sops and make equipment recommendations after
field-testing.
·
The
committee shall evaluate and compare proposed equipment purchases.
·
The
committee shall evaluate equipment locations on existing apparatus and whenever
practical recommend changes to facilitate constancy throughout the department.
