STANDARD OPERATING POLICY

Smoking Policy

Purpose: To provide a smoke free environment in and around fire department property.

Scope: This policy applies to all fire stations, vehicles, drill ground and incident scenes.

It shall be the responsibility of all to adhere to this policy.

Enforcement shall be the responsibility of both line and staff officers.

Procedure: The Rocky Hill Fire Department prohibits smoking throughout all stations, most of the grounds and in department owned vehicles.

Smoking is also prohibited on the drill ground and at incident locations.

Smoking is allowed in the following locations

Station #1: Rear of the building by the kitchen entrance door.

Station #2: Behind by rear bays

Station #3: Behind the building by the training room door.

Fire Police/Museum: By the exterior metal stairwell.
